We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Site, services, or interact with us. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

This Policy applies to all users, including shippers (clients) and carriers (transportistas). It is an integral part of the SpaceZ User Agreement. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use our services.

We operate in compliance with applicable United States and Canadian privacy laws, including but not limited to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada, and other relevant federal, state, and provincial regulations.

1 Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, improve, and secure our services. The types of information we collect include:

1.1 Personal Information

Information that identifies or can be used to identify you, such as:

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, company name (if applicable), and payment method details (e.g., credit card or bank account information for billing). For carriers, we also collect FMCSA authorization certificates, driver's licenses, insurance details, and business entity information.
  • Shipment Information: Details about shipments you post or bid on, including origin and destination addresses, shipment descriptions, weights, dimensions, and any special requirements.
  • Payment Information: Billing details, transaction history, and payment method information processed through our platform or third-party payment processors. We do not store full credit card numbers; these are handled securely by our payment partners.
  • Communication Information: Emails, chats, or other correspondence you send to us or other users via the platform.
  • Feedback and Reviews: Ratings, comments, and feedback you provide or receive.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you visit the Site or use our services:

  • Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, time spent, and navigation patterns.
  • Location Data: Approximate location based on IP address or shipment details (for routing and matching purposes). For carriers, we may track shipments in real-time once authorized (e.g., after marking "Managing Pickup").
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to enhance user experience, analyze trends, and administer the Site. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Verification and Compliance Data: From FMCSA, DOT, or other regulatory bodies for carrier verification (e.g., safety ratings, insurance status).
  • Payment Processors: Transaction confirmation from third-party providers.
  • Linked Sites and Services: Data shared with or from third-party sites you link to or services you use via our platform.

Note: We do not collect sensitive personal information (e.g., racial or ethnic origin, health data) unless required for shipment compliance (e.g., hazardous materials).

2 How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve our platform:

  • Provide Services: Match shippers with carriers, process bookings, facilitate payments, generate bills of lading, and enable communications.
  • Account Management: Create and manage accounts, verify identities, and enforce terms (e.g., suspension for violations).
  • Payments and Transactions: Process reservations, deposits, and final payments; handle disputes or refunds.
  • Security and Compliance: Detect fraud, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., FMCSA verification), and protect against unauthorized access.
  • Communications: Send service updates, notifications (e.g., bid alerts, shipment status), and marketing emails (with opt-out options).
  • Analytics and Improvements: Analyze usage to enhance the Site, develop new features, and personalize experiences.
  • Legal Obligations: Comply with laws, respond to legal requests, or enforce our agreements.

For carriers, we use tracking data to monitor shipments and ensure timely delivery.

3 How We Share Your Information

We share information only as necessary:

  • With Other Users: Shipment details (anonymized where possible) to facilitate matching and agreements. Personal contact info (e.g., phone numbers, addresses) is not shared in communications to protect privacy.
  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors for payment processing, identity verification, data storage, analytics, and email services. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
  • Regulatory Bodies: FMCSA, DOT, or customs authorities for compliance (e.g., carrier verification, cross-border shipments).
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred.
  • Legal Requirements: To comply with laws, subpoenas, or court orders; protect rights, safety, or property; or prevent fraud.

Important: We do not sell your personal information. For CCPA/CPRA purposes, "sharing" for targeted advertising is not applicable, but you may opt out of any future sharing. For PIPEDA, we obtain consent where required.

4 Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures (e.g., encryption, access controls) to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality. Report suspected breaches to support@spacezshipping.com.

  • Access and Update: View, update, or delete your account information via your profile.
  • Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails or notifications in settings.
  • Data Portability: Request a copy of your data.
